Kelsey grew up in Traverse City, Michigan where she fell in love with Lake Michigan and all the beauty and activities that West Michigan has to offer. Kelsey then spent the next six years at Michigan State University pursuing her childhood dream of becoming an attorney. Having earned both her bachelor’s and law degrees from Michigan State, Kelsey is and always will be a huge Spartan football and basketball fan. Go Green!
During law school, Kelsey worked on perfecting her legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills, receiving Jurisprudence Achievement Awards for earning the highest grade in her Advocacy and Research, Writing & Analysis classes. Kelsey also led her moot court team as the team captain to a first-place victory over 28 teams at the William E. McGee National Civil Rights Moot Court Competition. Kelsey’s desire for winning and achieving excellent results was evident then and remains evident in her work!
After graduating Magna Cum Laude from law school, Kelsey pursued a career as a Research Attorney at the Michigan Court of Appeals where she further honed her excellent writing skills and her knowledge of Michigan law. During her time at the Court of Appeals, Kelsey decided that she wanted to work with families to help them with their family law problems, and she joined the Kraayeveld Family Law team. Kelsey’s calm and steadfast guidance has helped her clients to reach excellent results.
On a personal level, Kelsey is the proud owner of a sweet Corgi puppy named Winnie. In her free time, Kelsey loves to hike, spend time on the water, and explore the great outdoors.
